Fokker F-27-300M Troopship

Koninklijke Luchtmacht (KLu) (Royal Netherlands Air Force, RNLAF)
This was one of three KLu Fokker F-27-300M Troopships noted at the airport that day; the other two, C-4 and C-9, wore camouflage.
The Fokker F27 was the workhorse of the Dutch Air Force for almost 36 years. C-1, C-2 and C-3 were F27-100 ‘Friendships’, the other nine were F27-300M ‘Troopships’ with a larger cargo door. (Source: Rob Schleiffert on flickr)

Test reg PH-FBY in 1960 before delivery to the Netherlands Air Force as C-10 in 1961. Withdrawn from use 15 Oct 1993 and stored at Eindhoven AB. Flown to Soesterberg AB 10 Feb 1994 and stored. Trucked to the Militaire Luchtvaart Museum (MLM) 2 Feb 1997 and placed on display in demo markings. Trucked to a technical school in Hoofddorp, Netherlands 10 Jun 2010 for restoration by students, returned to Soesterberg 4 Oct 2013 for storage. Painted in camo markings in Sep 2014 and now on display as such in the new Nationaal Militair Museum (NMM).
