Aeroflot

CCCP-42508 is taxiing to Riem’s runway 25 for take-off. This airframe was noted here several times: on 18 May 1970 (together with Aeroflot Il-18D CCCP-75460), on 24 August 1972 (together with sister ship CCCP-42442) and on 12 September 1972 (together with sister ships CCCP-42507 and CCCP-42474).

During and around the 1972 Summer Olympic Games at Munich, Aeroflot sent many Tu-104s to Riem, sometimes several on a single day.

This was the last Tu-104B built. Initially operated by 235 OAO (Soviet Government) at VKO from January 1961 to February 1964. First noted LHR 11 July 1961 (used by Yuri Gagarin for his visit to the UK). With Aeroflot from January 1965. Struck off charge in July 1979. Preserved in park at Orenburg; destroyed by arson in 1987 or 1988. (Source: scramble.nl)
