RP-C803 "Champaca"
McDonnell Douglas DC-8-53
45937 / 324
Philippine Airlines (additional KLM titles)
Seen from the spotters‘ hill near the village of Feldkirchen, PI-C803 is taxiing to Riem’s runway 25 for take-off. This airframe was also noted at Riem on 8 May 1972 and 2 December 1973 (as PI-C803) as well as on 3 April 1974 and 16 June 1974 (as RP-C803) - probably the precise date for this shot.
PI-C803 was delivered new to Philippine Airlines on 27 January 1968. It was re-registered as RP-C803 in April 1974. The aircraft was written off at Tokyo-Haneda on 18 April 1977 when it skidded off the runway on take-off. There were no fatalities.
