F-GGPN
Fairchild Hiller FH-227B
533
Uni-Air
Still wearing an Air Polynésie colour scheme, F-GGPN visited Munich on a flight for its new operator Uni Air. Nearly ten years after this visit, the aircraft was sold to Ecuador as HC-BXC. It flew for Austro Aero and was retired at Cuenca after a few years - and is probably still existant, it was last seen there in derelict condition in 2021. (Source: Stephan Barth on airhistory.net)
The Viscount behind is Hot Air’s G-BAPF.
This FH-227B started out as N7813M with Mohawk Airlines in February 1967 and was later operated by Allegheny Airlines. Pan Adria Airways / Aero Servis / Transadria used it as YU-ALD between November 1974 and January 1980, Air Polynésie / Air Tahiti as F-ODMR between May 1980 and April 1988 when it went on to Uni-Air as F-GGPN. The final operator was Ecuador’s Austro Aéreo from May 1997. Since that airline’s demise the impounded Fairchild rested in a parking lot next to Mariscal La Mar Airport in Cuenca. (Sources: scramble.nl, airhistory.net). The most recent photo I found is from October 2013.
