Air Bridge Carriers (ABC) (basic Sagittair colours)
G-APWW shortly before touch-down on runway 25. Noted at Riem on 5 May 1973, probably the day of this shot.
Here’s what Dick Gilbert commented under the other photo of G-APWW I uploaded:
"I have the original ABC Movements Log which shows;
5 May 1973, G-APWW, Flight number 1011 both ways, charter.
East Midlands - Munich 0955 - 1348
Munich - East Midlands 1547 - 1926
Capt Peter Moore, First Officer Singh.
Apparently 3.3 tons of cargo went out, and 3.2 tons came back, but there's no record of the charterer's identity or the nature of the cargo.
No other flights to Munich in the month, so it has to be that date."

Armstrong Whitworth 101 Argosy (cn 6656) Delivered new to Riddle Airlines as N6503R in January, 1961, and then to Capitol Airlines with same reg in July, 1962. From 1967-1971 it was N892U with Universal Airlines. In March, 1972 it went to Sagittair and in 1973 was with Air Bridge Carriers also as G-APWW. It went to Brain & Brown Airfreighters in Australia as VH-BBA in May, 1974, then to IPEC Aviation Pty in 1977. Leased in 1980 to Kris Air and back to IPEC as VH-IPD. It was broken up at Essendon in late 1990.
