TC-JAY has started its take-off roll on runway 07. This was one of the earliest DC-10s to visit Riem, first noted on 6 March 1973 with THY and then frequently seen at the airport with THY through the 1970s and later with BHT in the late 1980s.

TC-JAY 'Izmir' c/n 46907 (line no. 78) - McDonnell Douglas DC-10-10 was delivered new to THY in February 1973 as their third widebody aircraft, and flew with the airline for fourteen years before being transferred to charter subsidiary BHT Bogazici Hava Tasimaciligi in 1987. A couple of years later, the aircraft was sold to Federal Express and converted into a pure freighter as N68059. The aircraft was finally withdrawn in 2012 after a flying career of 39 years, and stored awaiting disposal at Victorville, California.
