Noble Air
TC-AFC parked in Riem’s Ostpilz area in January 1991.
Noble Air was founded in January 1989 and operated a fleet of up to six Boeing 727-200s. From autumn 1990, the number of bookings for vacation trips to Turkey plummeted due to the outbreak of the Second Gulf War and Noble Air‘s economic situation deteriorated. The airline could not pay the rents of the leased planes and had to stop all its flights on 7 January 1991, though it later resumed operations until finally shutting down in December 1991. Three B727s whose lease could not be paid were parked at Munich-Riem in January 1991. TC-AFB was leased to Istanbul Airlines from April 1991, TC-AFE und TC-AFG would fly again for Noble Air until the airline ceased operations. c/n 19863 - Boeing 727-228 was one of the first batch of Boeing 727s for Air France, delivered new in Feb 1969. The aircraft flew for most of its commercial passenger life with Air France from 1969 to 1989, before being sold back to the USA and then leased to Noble Air of Turkey as TC-AFC. The aircraft flew for another 8 years with Noble Air and finally Istanbul Airlines before being withdrawn and broken up at Istanbul in 1998.
