München-Riem

ca. 1960

N636 (1)

Martin 4-0-4

14135

E. F. MacDonald Company

An extremely rare type at Riem (and in all of Europe, I think). Note a number of Lockheed T-33As in the background. They were maintained at Riem by the Messerschmitt company in that period.

From 1965, the E. F. MacDonald Company re-used the registration N636 for G-159 Gulfstream I c/n 149. In 1978, the registration was again transferred, this time to North American Sabreliner 60 c/n 306-140.

Information from airliners.net - thanks to Robert Domandl (slightly adapted):

This Martin 404 was delivered new to TWA on 16 July 1952 as N40429. On 12 March 1959 it went to California Airmotive Corp. Between 1960 and 1965 it was used by the E. F. MacDonald Company. Changed to registration N636X in 1965 and used as a bizprop by a series of companies. To Whitesell Construction Corp. April 1973. Ferry flown on 29 February 2008 from Camarillo, CA, to Valle, AZ for preservation at the Planes of Fame Museum.

I didn’t find a photo of this aircraft as N40429 with TWA. Here’s a photo of N40401 instead:
