München-Riem
1989
9Q-CLI "Mont Ngaliema"
McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30
47886 / 90
Air Zaïre
9Q-CLI had first been seen at Riem in February 1974 together with Air Zaïre B747 N747QC when Zaïrean President Mobutu visited Germany. It was reported again on 10 October and 31 October 1991 (on a cargo flight).
I have no further information about this visit in 1989, but possibly the aircraft came to Munich to pick up money printed at Giesecke & Devrient. (See the photo below in the comments.)
Information from tonymadgehjg.proboards.com:
This aircraft was originally built for ATLANTIS but eventually delivered to AIR ZAIRE (9Q-CLI "Mont Ngalienma") during during 1973. It was leased to AIR TCHAD during 1975 and to SABENA during 1977 and again during 1978. It was then sold to the INDO SUEZ BANK (F-OGQC), leased to AIR ZAIRE and then sold back to the airline (9Q-CLI "Mont Ngaliema") during 1988. The aircraft was withdrawn from service and stored at Tel Aviv, Israel, during 1995.
Finally broken up at TLV in April 2002. (Source: planelogger.com)
