VH-EBS (3): Boeing 747-238B c/n 22616 / 543, delivered to Qantas in November 1981 and wfu in December 2002

VH-EBS (4): Airbus A330-202 c/n 1258, still active with Qantas in 2020

The 1972 Olympic Summer Games in Munich brought a lot of airlines and airliners to Riem airport that were otherwise never seen there, including this Qantas 707 at the holding point for runway 07. Another Qantas B707, VH-EAG, visited Riem about a month later, on 12 September 1972, very likely also in connection with the Olympic Games.

Information from flickr - thanks to Ken Fielding:

Delivered to QANTAS Airways in Feb-66 as VH-EBS, it only stayed with QANTAS for just under 8 years before being leased to MAS Malaysian Airline System in Mar-73 as 9M-ASO. It was sold to Malaysian Airlines in Oct-73 and re-registered 9M-MCS in Oct-75. The aircraft was withdrawn from Service by Malaysian in Jan-81 and stored at Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. In Oct-81 it was sold to the Air Supply Corporation and sold on the same day to United African Airlines (Jamahiriya Air Transport), Libya, as 5A-DJO. Sadly it was written off on 14-Mar-83 after an engine exploded on take-off from Sebha, Libya.
