I don't think I could do a castle shelf without the Forest Folks, so I picked up the gift with purchase set 40567 from Bricklink (because I had no big new Lego orders planned).
I also collected two Forest Folks Outfits (body, legs and cap) from Lego's online Pick A Brick, as I wanted a Forest kid for more fun and shenanigans...
I keep repeating myself. In small sets, Lego always punches in above my expectations. The Forest Hideout is no exception.
Much to my surprise, I prefer it closed and as a tree/tower. And the tree that looks rather spartan in images looks a lot better in real life.
