Bhutanese Nuns
Buddhist nuns inside a temple in Bhutan, reading together from sacred Sanskrit text. In Buddhism, nuns are women who devote their life to Buddha and follow a set of rules to live by. Like their male monk counterparts, they shave their head (to strip away vanity and personal individuality) and wear the same style of simple red robes. There are far fewer nuns in Buddhist culture as compared to monks.
