R707 heads up the ladder track towards the gate to the mainline, hauling a six car train bound for Southern Cross.
This was a rather short trip, picking up Cruise Express passengers for day four of their huge five day train getaway. Passengers were brought to Newport for a private tour of the 1880's erected Newport Workshops, with volunteers of both Steamrail and 707 Operations displaying their rollingstock and historic infrastructure.
After the passengers had completed their tours, R707 headed back to Southern Cross where the passengers then headed back to Albury with SRHC's standard gauge train.
