The foreground shows parts of the base and core of this cone shaped,

very old & well used Wooden Thread Spool that is laying on it’s side.

 

These types of spools, now collectibles, were used in textile mills and

on looms in factories.

 

Outside diameter of entire base is 50.8mm / 2 inches.
