Day 12: The Pumpkin King
Today, my girlfriend started preparing for dinner rather early, since we decided to have pumpkin for dinner. I was watching her cut the pie pumpkin when I got inspired by the stemless half of the pumpkin. It looked like a mask, even though it was too small for my face.
I seem to be rather fond of closeup shots this Photober, probably because I've gained weight and my self esteem isn't the best. Also, as usual with Photober, I feel like my wide shots just are missing something...I feel like they're lacking an artistic perspective, and that makes it boring. I don't know if it's pose related (it probably is!) or having to do with the angle of the camera to my body and the background, or even the background itself—or al of the above. It's probably all of the above.
At any rate, closeups are much easier for me to shoot and feel confident about, for the above reasons and my body image. They're also more fun to edit, since I rather enjoy retouching.
I do want to try more long shots in the future, once I have more will to go and travel somewhere that's not in my apartment complex. I have an idea for a place, and I can't wait to shoot there again.
