Not sure of the true origin of this popular cake in the Philippines. They call it "sansrival" there which translates from the French words as "unrivalled". Definitely not Filipino terminology and the cooking techniques are European. It has layers of meringue between buttercream icing and chopped cashews similar to a dacquoise. It's crunchy, good, and not too sweet. This is the very last piece and it's not a perfect shape anymore.
