08 Aug 2005, Sampson County, NC, USA --- A thirteen year old boy from Chiapas, Mexico, who has traveled to America with his father to work in the fields as a migrant farm laborer, helps to prepare a meal in the communal kitchen. Made from scratch, almost every meal includes tortillas, and a tortilla press is one of the few, and prized, possesions of most of the workers. Migrant farm workers, mostly from Mexico and Latin America harvest over eighty percent of crops in the United States. They live in impoverished camps, and travel from crop to crop, working ten or twelve-hour days in the fields of America's agricultural heartland. --- Image by © Andrew Lichtenstein/Corbis
