Canon FTb

I originally bought a silver Canon FTb that I found had a film spacing issue after I received it. I was able to somewhat fix the issue and loved the camera. It quickly became my favorite Canon slr. I eventually picked up this black Canon FTb for the lens, a 50mm “Chrome nose.” It had a mirror that had lost most of the silvering and the camera itself was in desperate need of a cleaning. I cleaned it up, relocated everything. I removed the prism and cleaned it. I replaced the light seals and then swapped the mirror out of my silver FTb into this camera. Now the camera operates as smooth as ever, does not exhibit the film spacing issue of my silver version and it looks so much better to me than the silver copy. The meter is accurate though I rarely use it. I prefer to meter by eye with this camera. It is one of the more enjoyable slr cameras I own. I only wish I could swap the newer style film advance lever from my silver copy to this camera.
