En la esquina de la Catedral Nueva de Salamanca si tienes buena visión puedes encontrar la famosa figura del astronauta. Su historia comienza en 1992 cuando la “Puerta de Ramos”, que estaba muy dañada, debe restaurarse. Pues al mampostero Miguel Romero, siguiendo la tradición de las restauraciones de las catedrales que incluyan un referente al año de su mejora (ese año se inauguró la exposición temporal “Las Edades del Hombre”), esculpió un hombre del espacio. Pero también un dragón con un cono de helado, un lince y una cigüeña.
