On the way out to the island we had no commentary, and the laddish helmsman muttered incomprensibly when he did the 'elf n safety' announcement.
On the way back, however, which is a lovely 40 minute jaunt round the back of the harbour and round the 5 islands, this man gave us a most fascinating and informative talk from the wheelhouse tannoy.
It always amazes me how folk who do this daily for their living manage to make it fresh, and never sound bored.
We thanked him as we crossed the gangplank and I asked for the pic. He said 'yes' but I think he felt 'Nooooo!'
