Ganoderma australe (= G.adspersum)
In the top 100, widespread and common.
The underside has fine white or cream rounded pores, rather like an artists canvas, on which writings or drawings can be scratched.
This it has in common with the Artist's Bracket, G.applanatum, which I have yet to find!On living and dead wood of deciduous trees, usually Beech, as here.
