Wall lizard juvenile

Podarcis muralis . A juvenile. It was about 4"/10cms long. Adults reach 12-18cms and it takes 2 years for a male and 3 for a female to reach maturity. They are not native to the UK.

There are many of these sunning themselves and hunting on the cliff on a sunny day.

It wasn't scared of Tizzy..amazing! I suppose if you are born next to a busy zigzag cliff path people are just part of the landscape.

It is thought that introduced colonies, particularly this one in Bournemouth, may have already had a detrimental effect on the native lizard populations.
