Pacman Nebula SHO

The Pacman Nebula, NGC 281, lies 9500 light years away in the constellation of Cassiopeia. The nebula contains several Bok Globules within which cold dense cosmic dust and gas collapses into new stars.

 

Acquisition:25x 300s Ha, 25x 300s (OIII), 25x 300s (SII). Calibrated with Darks, Flats and Dark Flats. Total integration 6.3 hours.

 

Location:12-11-2022. St Helens, UK, Bortle 7, 83% moon.

 

Equipment:Skywatcher Esprit100ED, Flattener, HEQ5pro. ZWO ASI1600MMpro, EFWmini. Baader NB filters.

 

Guiding:Skywatcher 9x50 Finder, SVbony UV-IR cut, ZWO ASI120MM.

 

Software:NINA, PHD2, EQMOD.

 

Processing:Siril, Affinity Photo 2 with StarXTerminator, Topaz DeNoiseAI and HLVG plug-ins.
