Sketty - Davies the ironmonger
This shop has existed on the corner of Eversley Road and Sketty Avenue for as long as I can remember, and back in the day I used to get sent there with a gallon can and half a crown to buy paraffin for the freestanding heater at my grandparents house. It was therefore an unexpected pleasure to see the place still flourishing in September 2014. Less galvanised dustbins, more plastic buckets, but the yard brushes are still there. The shops along Eversley Road are still going strong, and whilst the Home & Colonial Stores has long gone, Kristys Bakery is still there.
