Parco nazionale di Kakum,
uno dei più grandi parchi naturali attrezzati del Ghana.
L'area del parco è di oltre 350 km², principalmente coperta da foresta pluviale.
La stagione delle piogge è fra maggio e dicembre, e l'umidità media è intorno al 90%.
Il Kakum National Park fu costituito nel 1932 come area naturale protetta non aperta al pubblico (veniva tuttavia sfruttata per la raccolta di legname).
Nel 1992 il Kakum e la contigua riserva di Assin Attandanso furono unite a formare la Kakum Conservation Area.
Nel 1994 il governo decise di aprire il parco al pubblico, e un visitor center fu istituito nel 1997.

The park covers an area of over 350 km², mostly covered by rainforest.
The rainy season is between May and December, and average humidity is around 90%.
Kakum National Park was established in 1932 as a protected natural area not open to the public (it was, however, exploited for timber harvesting).
In 1992, Kakum and the adjacent Assin Attandanso reserve were merged to form the Kakum Conservation Area.
In 1994, the government decided to open the park to the public, and a visitor center was established in 1997.
A park trail flanked by a thick bamboo grove.
