Cape Coast Castle.
Il grande spazio sotterraneo in cui venivano tenuti incatenati gli schiavi maschi.
In questi ambienti esistevano due piccole finestrelle che dovevano provvedere al ricambio d'aria e servivano, anche, ai soldati per il controllo dei prigionieri.
In questo spazio potevano essere stipati al buio centinaia di persone con temperature da zona equatoriale.
I prigionieri non rivedevano più il sole fino all'arrivo della nave negriera e potevano passare anche vari mesi.
Chiaramente non esistevano servizi igienici, tutto ciò che era possibile usciva dal canaletto al centro del locale.
Quello che ai lati del canaletto sembra cemento sono escrementi ormai cristalizzati dal passare dei secoli.
L'ultima stanza sembra illuminata dal sole, sono solo lampadine che illuminano fiori portati da turisti probabilmente per onorare i propri avi.
Le moltissime persone che morivano venivano gettate in mare.

The large underground space where male slaves were kept chained.
In these rooms, there were two small windows that provided ventilation and were also used by soldiers to monitor the prisoners.
Hundreds of people could be crammed into this space in the dark, with temperatures approaching equatorial.
The prisoners would not see the sun again until the arrival of the slave ship, and this could last for several months.
Clearly, there were no toilets; everything that was available flowed out of the small canal in the center of the room.
What looks like concrete on the sides of the canal is excrement, crystallized by the passage of centuries.
The last room seems to be illuminated by the sun; it's just light bulbs illuminating flowers brought by tourists, presumably to honor their ancestors.
The many people who died were thrown into the sea.
