Cobo defassa ? (Kobus ellipsiprymnus defassa).
Il cobo è una grande antilope (altezza 120–130 cm, peso 200–250 kg) che si trova sempre vicino ai fiumi ma che, nonostante il suo nome alternativo di antilope d'acqua, vive in terreni più asciutti dei suoi parenti, il kob e il lichi.
I suoi zoccoli sono di colore nerastro, mentre il manto, che dà al marrone, presenta delle linee bianche attorno al muso e intorno agli occhi, come pure dietro alle orecchie e a volte attorno al collo.
Inoltre, c'è un cerchio intorno alla parte posteriore o addirittura una macchia bianca. I maschi adulti hanno colli robusti e massicci e alcuni sono dotati di una specie di collare folto ed incolto che scende lungo tutta la gola.
Solo i maschi sono dotati di corna lunghe e slanciate, con nervature che partono dalla base e giungono alla cima, che risulta leggermente incurvata all'infuori e con una lieve flessione prima verso la nuca, poi verso l'esterno.
Le corna non presentano quel gomito a mezza altezza che è la caratteristica dei kob e dei lichi.

Defassa waterbuck ? (Kobus ellipsiprymnus defassa).
The waterbuck is a large antelope (height 120–130 cm, weight 200–250 kg) that is always found near rivers but, despite its alternative name of waterbuck, inhabits drier terrain than its relatives, the kob and the lechwe.
Its hooves are blackish in color, while its coat, which is brown, has white lines around the muzzle and around the eyes, as well as behind the ears and sometimes around the neck.
In addition, there is a ring around the rump or even a white spot. Adult males have strong, massive necks and some have a kind of bushy, wild ruff that runs down the entire throat.
Only the males have long, slender horns, with ribs that start at the base and reach the tip, which is slightly curved outwards and with a slight bend first towards the nape, then outwards.
The horns do not have the elbow at mid-height that is characteristic of kobs and lechwes.
