Fu costruita in stile neogotico dall'architetto diocesano Joseph Bigot .

The construction of the Sainte-Croix church was decided in 1850 to replace the dilapidated church of Lochrist.

Its location was the subject of heated debate (the dispute lasted 5 years), with the city (Le Conquet) eventually prevailing over the countryside (Lochrist).

To build the new church, stones from the old building were recovered and others from the Blancs-Sablons and Aber -Ildut quarries were added.

It was built in neo-Gothic style by the diocesan architect Joseph Bigot. Le Conquet then became the parish capital in 1857, to the detriment of Lochrist, which formerly depended on the bishopric of Léon.

The new church was inaugurated in 1858 by René-Nicolas Sergent, bishop of Quimper and Léon.

Escorted by a large number of priests, he presided

simultaneously over the transfer of the sarcophagus of Dom Michel Le Nobletz to the new church.
