Parco di Nara - Tōdai-ji.
Il tempio è stato distrutto e ricostruito più volte nel corso dei secoli ed in origine era molto più ampio di quello attuale.
Era circondato da mura e munito di quattro porte.
Oggi, la sala principale (chiamata Daibutsuden), nonostante sia solamente i 2/3 di quella originale, è considerata la più grande struttura in legno del mondo.
Al suo interno è presente una delle statue di Buddha più grandi del Giappone, costruita in bronzo e alta ben 15 metri (anche questa è stata ricostruita più volte nel corso degli anni). Leggermente indietro, ai suoi lati, si posso ammirare le statue giganti di 2 Bodhisattva.
Infine sono presenti varie altre statue buddhiste di dimensioni più piccole.

The temple has been destroyed and rebuilt several times over the centuries and was originally much larger than the current one.
It was surrounded by walls and equipped with four gates.
Today, the main hall (called Daibutsuden), despite being only 2/3 of the original one, is considered the largest wooden structure in the world.
Inside there is one of the largest Buddha statues in Japan, built in bronze and 15 meters high (this too has been rebuilt several times over the years). Slightly back, on its sides, one can admire the giant statues of 2 Bodhisattvas.
Finally, there are various other smaller Buddhist statues.
