Le dune del deserto omanita sono più alte a est,e diminuiscono man mano a nord, raggiungono fino a 100 metri (330 piedi) di altezza in alcuni punti secondo un rapporto pubblicato dal Ministero del Turismo.
Sono come l‘oro pallido a mezzogiorno, passano dal giallo intenso all'arancio ramato quando il sole è ad angoli inferiori.

They are like pale gold at noon, turning from deep yellow to coppery orange when the sun is at lower angles.
