Porto Flavia è posto alla fine di tunnel lungo circa 600 metri, scavato nella roccia dai minatori, sbuca a metà di uno strapiombo che offre una vista mozzafiato sul suggestivo faraglione di Pan di Zucchero, monumento naturale di 132 metri. Porto Flavia, all’interno del promontorio che domina Masua, nel territorio di Iglesias, realizzata tra 1922 e 1924, è un’ardita opera sospesa fra cielo e mare, che permetteva l’imbarco diretto dei minerali, destinati alle fonderie nord-europee, sulle navi, riducendo in maniera drastica tempi e costi di trasporto.

Porto Flavia is located at the end of a tunnel about 600 meters long, dug into the rock by miners, it comes out in the middle of an overhang that offers a breathtaking view of the suggestive stack of Pan di Zucchero, a natural monument of 132 meters.
Porto Flavia, inside the promontory that dominates Masua, in the territory of Iglesias, built between 1922 and 1924, is a daring work suspended between sky and sea, which allowed the direct loading of minerals, destined for north-European foundries, on ships, drastically reducing transport times and costs.
