Backstory: Darius Dread is the father of the current Dreadvolt, Darren. He, like the rest of his family, is very well known in the city of Newbourne, as one of the biggest crime families. Darius grew up in an abusive home, with his father, the previous Dreadvolt, lashing out at him for his subordinates failures. Eventually, Darius had enough of the abuse, which led to him murdering his father, when he was eighteen. After being broken out of prison, Darius would reach out to Irelyn LaFontaine, a reporter who would write him letters while he was in prison. The two would meet for the first time soon after, which led to a relationship. It wasn't long, before the two of them were married, and Darren would be born. He didn't want to be his father, and while he still had high expectations of Darren, he never physically, or verbally abused him. He was rather protective of his son, and when others in the family had doubts, Darius would stand up for Darren. As he gets older, Darius has opted to not go out in costume as much. But he's still quite dangerous, and if anyone crosses him, or his family, he will make them pay.
