Leaning Tree and unsettled weather
Taken a couple of days ago during an Extreme Thunderstorm Watch. I was looking for the little red bison calves but there were no bison in sight. Since I was there I thought I should at least come away with something. I like this tree that is in the middle of a field by itself, without shelter from others. I am not sure why it leans as it does. I could be wind or being in the bison loop at Elk Island National Park, possibly Bison used it at a scratching post when it was younger. Regardless I do find the lean interesting.
Although the sky was brewing light was changing quickly as the sun would do some poking through between the clouds. I waited until the sun was out on the tree. Having only my 100-400 with me I tried my best to get as much of the the leafy part of the tree against the darkest cloud. A wider angle lens would have worked better, but made the best of what I had to work with.
I may have processed to enhance the darkness of the clouds, but they were very dark. Still no lightning to be heard so I was good.
