Dying forest

From the Quiver tree forest in Northern Cape. It is a very delicate biome here. The trees exist in desert conditions and are very old. There are only two ‘forests’ in existence and this is one. Extended periods of drought have consequences. Fortunately there has just been rain but too late for this tree.
