Angel joy

This angel is on the church of St Lawrence in Wootton St Lawrence. I wonder if along with other carvings it dates back to the original twelfth or fourteenth century building which was replaced in the nineteenth century. (Although on second thoughts I think the angel is too pretty to be other than Victorian.) I love the angel's peaceful look. I meant to put it on Flickr in time for Easter but overlooked it. The sun was setting and bathed the figure in golden light.
