Eastern Screech-Owl
Photographed just before full darkness set in, this little one was wide awake and ready to hunt. She was highly alert to the rodents moving in the grass below her cavity and I enjoyed observing her in that state. I didn't stick around too long, though, as she had a meal to catch and I did not want to be in the way.
