CSX W015 / CSXT 5265 / Laurens, SC / 1/23/22
Back in Mobile, CSX was my least favorite railroad in the area (many can back up this claim). Since I moved to a new area and was told that CSX was better up here, I thought I would give the Spartanburg Sub a try.
The plan was to chase CSX Q694 from Laurens to the Depot at Spartanburg and then catch a few NS trains, but the Intel I was getting was saying Q694-23 wasn't running. Unbeknownst to me at the time, Q694-22 had derailed behind the Depot in Spartanburg, meaning nothing would be running for a while.
That said, I did get extremely lucky with this rail train passing the Carolina Piedmont depot in Laurens (note the old semaphore towards the right of the depot, that was really cool). They would be dropping rail at the South end of Ora so I took the opportunity to explore the line some after this shot.
