MRL 4316 EMD SD70ACe - Extra Local - Whitehall
On a bitterly cold March morning, as evident with the freezing exhaust of the locomotives, MRL engineer Mickey takes 75 empty coal gons out of Whitehall. These cars were grabbed from the bottom of the 10th sub at Twin Bridges the day before, and are bound for Billings where they will be handed off to BNSF. Usually the 5th Sub through Jefferson Canyon to Whitehall is only served once a week in the winter, so we were lucky to catch this rare move with a pair of MRL Aces.
