Brands Hatch Masters Historic Festival DAY 2 23/08/20

Sunday At The Masters Historic Festival was all about the Racing with each driver of each support race ready to go after setting their Fastest Qualifying laps on the Saturday.

 

Masters Historic Formula 1 saw Thornton in his Lotus 91/5 Take the Victory while the Previous days Race saw O Connell Dominate the Race with a fantastic Victory in his Tyrell 011B with Steve Hartley not far Behind in his Maclaren MP4/1.

The 1 Hour Historic Sports Cars Race saw Alex Brundle and Gary Pearson in the Lola T70 Mk3B take the Victory in Sundays Race ,Winning by 11 Seconds From the Mighty Chevron B23 of Johnathan Mitchell and James Claridge.

Gentleman Drivers saw another Really Awesome Race take place with Sports cars from Triumph and MGB and Lotus. Mike Whitaker in his TVR Griffith Took Victory in the 90 Minute Long Race. The Shelby Cobra of Calum Lockie and Julian Thomas came home to Finish Second.

Pre 66 Touring Cars saw a whole lot of Drama and Action take place during the Race. Due to a Revision in the Race the Results were taken back by 1 Lap, Making Rob Fenn the Winner with Second Place Ollie Taylor in his Lotus Cortina with Geoffrey in Second and Allen in Third. Michael Cullen and Andrew Jordan's Lotus Had to retire after a Heroic Drive that almost saw them take Victory.

Pre 66 Minis were the next up to take on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit with Jeffery Smith Wining the Opening Race on Sunday. Charging through from Fifth on the Grid to Second and then Passing Tom Bell to take the lead and Win The Race.

In the Second Race Joe Ferguson Driving his Austin Cooper Mini S Previously Piloted by Bell took the Win and Fought very Hard to Earn it. Winning by just 0.6 Seconds with Nick Swift taking 3rd Place after Passing Curley on the Last Lap.
