I believe this is a "Knockabout" class schooner without a long bowsprit for flying fore sails. I found this one along the wharf apron of the yacht area of the Port of Varna in Bulgaria on our holiday there last summer. Since my late father was a lifelong devote "full fore and aft rig" sailor, I found this excellent old vessel of particular interest. Papa was a 30 year veteran U.S. Naval Officer and would have insisted on my taking him down to speak with the owners or workmen to have long and protracted (translated) conversations from English to Russian about the vessel's history, what their restoration intentions were, and needless to say, if he might captain a voyage. For me professionally as a photographer, it was a very unique opportinity to capture a rare, classic old vessel of the sea.
