This is Herbie from the first Love Bug movie, and the model duplicates its film counterpart by splitting in the middle. This die cast model is 4” long in the closed position, and it extends to 4 3/8” when opened. It was made in Italy and was purchased in 1971. The box has a picture of human star Buddy Hackett on the front and on the back has two scenes from the film showing Herbie in action.
