LSRC 6433 - SD70M
Built May 2001 as UP 4667, the Lake State Railway bought this SD70M in August 2022. LSRC gave it a new coat of paint and new number, emerging from their Saginaw, MI shops as LSRC 6433. LSRC now owns 7 ex-UP SD70Ms.
Here, LSRC's Y126 is finishing its shove across the Saginaw River from North Bay City Yard. The conductor will throw the switch at Foss Jct (currently under the locomotive) and then they'll head south for Saginaw.
Due to the consolidation of rail operations from what once was a town served by four Class I railroads, Lake State Railway's southbound route out of Bay City involves a switchback on the south/east side of the Saginaw River.
LSRC Y126 19 (Saginaw to Bay City, MI and return)
LSRC SD70M #6433
LSRC SD50-3 #6356
LSRC Road Slug #303
LSRC GP40M-3 #4303
LSRC GP40M-3 #4308
