All Stop at Niles Jct
Installed more than 50 years ago, these US&S relics served faithfully for many years under the Southern Pacific and now Union Pacific. Unfortunately the control point that these signals protect, Niles Jct in Houston, would soon get replacement signals. But at the time it was easy to stare in awe at these sentinels as they still served to protect Sunset Route train movements on a warm Texas evening.
These US&S H2's would finally come down in June 2025.
