Crossing Over at Chaney
Basking in the day's last golden rays, CP 8021 rolls west with a long manifest at Chaney Jct just west of Downtown Houston. Coming in off the Freight Main, the train is crossing over to the Passenger Main/Main 2.
Prior to the CPKC merger in 2023, KCS migrated over to CP's numeric system for train symbols, with one caveat: trains on the former KCS kept a letter for noting train-type. So this train ran as M280. However, in Spring 2025 CPKC fully integrated the company computer systems and by May all trains operate solely under train numbers.
CPKC 280 (Manifest- Kansas City, MO to Sanchez Yard [Nuevo Laredo, TM])
