PTTX 136139 - Flat Car
The original PTTX flatcars were created in the early 90's when Trailer Train converted F89-J intermodal flats to pipe service by adding wooden crossbeams. Later, TTX would order purpose-built cars for PTTX service, like this class-NSH90V flatcar constructed by National Steel Car in August 1999.
While carrying metal pipes is the namesake of these flatcars, a wide assortment of loads can be strapped onto these 89' railcars. Like here, where this flat is carrying long bars of channelized steel stock.
