Gas Empties Over White Oak Bayou

With a pair of Tier 4 GEVOs up front, a CPKC empty gasoline train rolls eastward over the long bridge over I-10, I-45, and White Oak Bayou. This is the Freight Main of UP's Houston Subdivision, on which this train is utilizing trackage rights on as it heads for Beaumont and another load of gas.

This roughly 1000 ft-long bridge was built in the late 1950's to accommodate the construction of the freeways here (replacing an older, shorter trestle). It also spanned the MKT's route into Houston, now a hike & bike trail out of frame to the right.
