On an overcast winter afternoon, four head-ends poke out from beneath the overhead walkway at the St Louis Amtrak Station.
UP 8222 sits with a very late Texas Eagle #22, which ran into locomotive troubles in East Texas (necessitating rescue by the UP unit). On the middle two tracks are Amtrak trains #314 & #304, the inbound Missouri River Runner and outbound Lincoln Service. And on the track closest to the camera is AMTK 54, which will replace UP 8222 on the Texas Eagle for the train's final run to Chicago.
