Strathcona & Sausage
The 2nd shot of my first ever CPKC train, southbound grain load GKCMXI12- fittingly, with notable units from each merger partner. CP 7030 features a crest on the sides of the cab commemorating Lord Strathcona's Horse, a regiment of the Canadian Army, and of course, trailing is KCS 4859, the Silver Sausage.
Besides a brief pause at Tower 68, UP kept the train moving right along through the Houston terminal, seen here heading down the ex-SP Sunset Route main through the highly gentrified Washington Avenue corridor.
