The Resurrectionist
"Want to do a mad scientist photo?" I asked my niece knowing full well she'd jump at the chance. Some planning (it's amazing just how many different and odd bottles my wife has around the house!), mixing of water and food colouring, finding an appropriate book, getting the smoke machine up and running, and placing out flashes combined to this final result. My niece - and I - love it! Should say the table we used is our coffee table from the living room. To raise it up we placed it on two dining room chairs. Big shout out to my daughter on smoke machine duty. It's never easy knowing what your dad wants with the smoke but you read my mind. Just like your mother lol!
Strobist info: Three flashes were used. A Godox AD200 was placed above camera left in a gridded softbox with a green gel, pointing straight down. The second AD200 was placed directly behind the model in a round silver reflector to back light the smoke. Also a green gel was used for this. The final light was a simple Nissin Di700a flashgun placed (with orange gel) in the lantern to the right. The two AD200s were triggered by wireless remote with the Nissin set in slave mode.
