LEGO Beech RC-45J MOC
Hey guys! Jack here again, and this time I'm here with my LEGO model of a Beech 18 (in this case, designated RC-5J and serving with the U.S. Navy at NAS Pensacola sometime in the mid-sixties). While the Beech 18 debuted just prior to the outbreak of World War II as a utility/transport aircraft, many served with the armed forces long past the conflict, some unto around the 1970s! This Beech 18 is based off of one that served in NAS Pensacola in the mid-sixties, and was used for the training of photo-reconnaissance personnel. Designated RC-45J, it allowed pilots in this category of Naval Aviation to train before they handled more complex and up-to-date aircraft.
The model itself features working landing gear, space for a pilot and copilot (though, sadly they cannot sit side-by-side, but instead must sit one behind the other ):), and dihedral on the outboard wings (as was characteristic of the real aircraft). Comments, faves, and constructive critiques, as always, are highly appreciated!
